Who can update Token metadata?

Only the wallet that is currently set as the metadata update authority can submit an update.

Can immutable metadata be updated?

No. Once metadata update authority is revoked or the Token is marked immutable, normal metadata changes are no longer possible.

What does the utility update?

It updates the on-chain Token name, symbol, and metadata URI, then publishes the artwork, description, website, and selected community links at that URI.

Can I update native Token-2022 metadata?

Yes, from the current update authority on a mint using the creator's supported extension scope. If new accounts are frozen by default, the app will not let you revoke freeze authority because that authority is needed to thaw them.

Update the on-chain Token name, symbol, and metadata URI from the wallet that currently holds metadata update authority. The new metadata can include artwork, a description, website, and community links.

You can also permanently revoke mint, freeze, or metadata update authority in the same transaction. A default-frozen Token-2022 mint must retain freeze authority so new accounts can be thawed. Review each choice carefully: a revoked authority cannot be restored.
