Set authorities with care
Understand the controls that can change a Token after launch before making an irreversible revocation decision.
Mint authority controls supply
The mint authority can create additional base units of a token. Revoking it permanently fixes the supply. If you need a future allocation, migration, or staged distribution, retain or transfer it to an appropriate signer instead. Use the mint authority tool only from the wallet that currently controls the mint.
Freeze authority controls token accounts
The freeze authority can freeze and unfreeze token accounts. Revoking it means no account can be frozen later. This may be appropriate for an unrestricted community token, but it removes an operational control permanently. The connected wallet must be the current authority to make this change.
Update authority controls metadata
The metadata update authority can change fields such as the token name, image, and links. Revoke it only after your branding and metadata are final. Immutable metadata cannot be corrected later through the normal update path.
Review before you sign
Confirm the exact mint address, the active authority, the selected action, the destination for a transfer, and the fee. Solana transactions are final after confirmation. A legitimate tool should never ask for your seed phrase or private key.
